Summer camps
Hi
everybody!
Summer offers lots of fun and new experiences.
Imagine you went to a summer camp like Katie, the girl from your textbook. Tell us about your holidays there.
Tell us where you went,
how long you stayed at the camp,
the activities you did
the people you met,
the places you visited,
your feelings,
the best and worst things that happened to you.
Leave a message to other teenagers who wouldlike to try.
Don't forget: use paragraphs and the simple past tense of the verbs!
Have a nice writing time!!!!

This year Katie and I decided to spend two weeks together in Nazaré!
ReplyDeleteWe decided to go camping, so we saved some money. The campsite was very close to the beach.
We went there alone!
We arrived there around noon. We set up the tent and went for a swim at the beach. We spent the rest of the afternoon there. Then we went back to the park to prepare dinner. While preparing dinner, three guys, our "neighbors", came talk to us and as they were alone too, we decided to join together. Katie and I decided to make dinner for them. We had dinner together and we started to know each other better.
We did a thousand things. Ascensor da Nazaré, was undoubtedly the best thing!
The worst part of the holiday was when we were invaded by ants in our tent!
These two weeks were awesome! We met some great people, we visited beautiful places and no doubt I will return to Nazaré!
This summer, I went to a summer camp. I go to a summer camp almost every year, because I like to make new friends and I enjoy the activities we do there. I meet people from various cities. I usually go for one or
ReplyDeletetwo weeks.
We do many things such as: canoeing, we search for objects and many more things.
We see various monuments in Guarda, in Leiria ...
These summer holidays were very good because I learned many things about the sights I saw.
Only good things have happened to me in summer camps. Thank God!
Try to spend your holidays at a summer camp, I'm sure you'll love it.
I love camping. It is an adventure for me!
ReplyDeleteOn 23 June 2011 I went to “Tocha” beach which is in the district of Coimbra.
When I arrived to “Tocha”, we set up the tents. It was fun because we were setting up the tent the wrong way. We stayed at the campsite for a week. I went with my friends from Salesian Poiares college, which is in Vila Real.
It was the best week of my life!
On the first day we had to set up the tent and organize things. On the second day we had various activities like treasure hunts and fishing at the sea. When the evening came I was very tired because it was a very active day. This week went by very quickly because I was so happy... On the last day we went to the beach. The flag was green but the water was very cold. I enjoyed myself anyway.
When time came to leave, I was sad but happy at the same time, because I spent a week that I will never forget.
I loved this week!
I went into a summer camp with Katie for the first time.
ReplyDeleteI searched on the internet what activities we were supposed to do and the activities were climbing, raft building, pitching tents and many other things.
I was a bit nervous because it was my first time in a summer camp and I didn’t know anyone well except for Katie.
On my first day I met two friends and they gave me their emails.
We went climbing. Katie was good at climbing. I was the last to reach the top of the hill.
I didn’t like climbing but at night we had great fun.
5 days later I had learned a lot of things about nature and now I have got a lot of friends I send emails to.
Do you know what I did this summer? No? Let me tell you. I went to a summer camp in Florida.
ReplyDeleteIt was really, really hot, so every day I was wearing t-shirts.
Well, but let me tell what I did there.
On the first day, they showed me where my room was. Then they showed me the whole camp. It was huge. I was afraid that I would lose myself.
As I was in Florida I needed to speak in English, it was a little difficult, because I didn't know some words. On the first day we went to a river near the camp. It was so cool! We swam, we did canoeing, we jumped into the water and played in the water and on the green grass by the river.
That was where I met Katie, a very funny girl who loves being outside, just like me! By coincidence we were in the same room, with two other really nice girls. On the other day we climbed a mountain. I was a little scared, because that would be the first time that I’d make something like that, but the girls encouraged me and it was really fun.
Hello!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Rúben. I’m 12 years old. Last summer I went to a Summer Camp in Algarve.
I love making new friends so the camp was a good thing for me and I love to have fun. At the camp we did a lot of outdoor activities like building rafts and going on nature walks.
I really liked this camp because I spent two weeks without my parents ( ahahahah )and because I’m an outdoorsy kind of boy.
In this camp I made loads of friends and I have the e-mails addresses of all of them.
I really enjoyed this camp and I hope to return.
Hi!
ReplyDeleteMy holidays were fantastic. They were spent in a summer camp, for a week in Ireland.
The first day, it was the usual confusion of luggage everywhere. We went to the river to have a swim and we had a picnic in a field nearby. In the afternoon we went walking in the mountains, we discovered wonderful things. On the second day we went to the city museum, in the afternoon we did a song contest.
On the following days we went canoeing, mountaineering ...
I met great people, I gained new friends, I met people from other cultures, I learned new languages….
It was a great experience, I recommend it to everyone. I’d like to repeat the experience. I just wish the camps were more organized!
